Dr Yee is a specialist trained Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon with a strong interest in laparoscopic surgery and research. Born in Malaysia, he undertook primary and secondary education in Brunei and Singapore before commencing Medicine at Sydney University. After completing medicine in 1994, Dr Yee completed his general medical residency before starting work in surgical research in Australia. After time spent in surgical training in Scotland he joined the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Training program in Sydney in 2005 and qualified as a General Surgeon in 2010. Subsequent to this he has spent time as a senior registrar in Bankstown Hospital and training in Upper GI surgery in Malaysia.

Dr Sarah Broderick

Dr Sarah Broderick is an Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Fertility Specialist in Canberra. She finished her medical degree in Newcastle, then specialty training in Canberra and Adelaide where she completed two years in laparoscopic and pelvic floor surgery. She has a special interest in advanced laparoscopy including endometriosis, and total laparoscopic hysterectomy. A/Professor Rodney Petersen (MBBS MBA FRANZCOG Grad Dip (Uni teaching))

A/Professor Rodney Petersen is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been the Director and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in teaching hospitals in Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. Most recently he was Director of Women’s and Newborn Services at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in South Australia. He has taught medical students, junior doctors and specialist trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for many years.

A/Professor Petersen is actively involved in Colposcopy training for specialist trainees within the RANZCOG and is a Course Director for the College of Surgeons in the Emergency Management of Surgical Trauma courses. He has completed three additional years of sub specialty training in gynaecological oncology and has been an examiner for the Australian Medical Council.

Dr Huda Younis

Huda is Australian and New Zealand trained and qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

She completed her medical degree in 1988. Huda did her residency and later completed her specialty training in Auckland. She moved to Australia in 2005 and settled in Canberra in 2006  where she started a private practice in Deakin.

Training and Philosophy

Dr Adham—or Omar, as he prefers to be called—grew up in New Zealand with his brother and four sisters. He obtained his general obstetrics and gynaecology training in Auckland, New Zealand, where he worked at Middlemore Hospital, the largest women’s health hospital in the Southern Hemisphere. There, he gained extensive experience in the management of high-risk pregnancies as well as complex gynaecological conditions.

In 2008, Omar moved to Sydney, where, at the renowned St. Vincent’s Hospital, he completed his fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and urogynaecology (treatment of bladder incontinence and prolapse).

Over the years, Omar has lived and worked in various parts of the world. He’s seen women and families through great challenges and triumphs and has developed a deep respect for the dignity of every patient.

Dr Joanne Dondey is an ophthalmologist with international Fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmologist and Strabismus. She has extensive experience in the treatment of a wide range of children's eye problems, neonatal eye disorders, childhood strabismus and complex adult strabismus.

Dr Ron Binetter

Dr. Ron Binetter, is one of the most experienced  Cataract and LASIK surgeons in Australia.

He has performed over 14,000 Cataract and Lens Implant procedures and over 22,000 LASIK procedures.

Many of his administrative and nursing staff and their families have had Cataract and Lens Implant or LASIK procedures performed by Dr. Binetter.

Dr. Binetter graduated in Medicine from the University of New South Wales. He  underwent specialist ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 1990 and the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1991.

After a year as a Research Associate in Ophthalmology at St.Vincent's Hospital Sydney, he was appointed as a Clinical Assistant in Ophthalmology. At the same time he became a Visiting Medical Officer at Goulburn Base Hospital and a clinical examiner in Ophthalmology for the Civil Aviation Authority.

In 1995 he was appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer in Ophthalmology at St.Vincent's Public and Private Hospitals.

In the early 1990's a revolution in cataract surgery occurred with the introduction of phacoemulsification (small incision cataract surgery). Cataract surgery transitioned from traditional large incision surgery to small incision surgery.

Dr Binetter was one of the earliest surgeons to adopt this new technology.He routinely used small incision, sutureless cataract surgery combined with the implantation of foldable intraocular lenses years before it was popularized. He helped pioneer sutureless cataract surgery and foldable lenses.

Then in 1995, with the emergence of the Excimer Laser and Laser Eye Surgery, Dr Binetter travelled to the USA for Fellowship training in LASIK. He trained with the world’s best surgeons, Dr Stephen Slade in Texas and Dr Jeff Machat in Toronto, Canada.

He was one of the first Laser Eye Surgeons to be recognized to perform LASIK in Australia. He instructs other surgeons in Cataract and Lens Implant procedures and LASIK.

Dr Maciek Kuzniarz- BMBS, MPH (Hon), FRANZCO

Dr Maciek Kuzniarz is an oculoplastic and general ophthalmic surgeon based in Canberra specialising in corrective and reconstructive lid and lacrimal surgery.  He performs orbital implant surgery and maintains an ongoing interest in general ophthalmology.

Dr Bikram Sethi

Dr Sethi is a periodontist who has undertaken specialist training focusing on the treatment of periodontal (‘gum’) disease and in the placement of dental implants at the University of Melbourne and at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.

In 2008, Dr Sethi commenced work in a specialist practice in Canberra where he worked for a number of years before setting up his own practice in the heart of Civic.

Dr. Clayton Clews is a Commonwealth accredited podiatric foot and ankle surgeon. Podiatric surgery is the surgical speciality devoted to the foot and ankle. His specialist training was obtained through the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS). He completed his undergraduate studies at Curtin University, Western Australia in 1989, his Research Masters in Sports Physiology at Canberra University in 2000, and his Masters in Podiatry at Curtin University in 2003.

Dr. Clews has trained extensively in Australia and overseas. He completed rotations within the UK’s National Health Service (2005/2010) and in the USA, at Dekalb Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia (2012). His USA rotation exposed him to the Podiatry Institute, a world leading facility in the training and promotion of podiatric foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Clews manages many conditions of the foot and ankle, with special interests in hallux valgus deformities (bunions), hallux rigidus (big toe joint arthritis), claw/hammer toes, nerve entrapments, complex forefoot conditions, mid-hind foot arthritic conditions and reconstructive flat foot surgery. Surgical treatment of ingrowing toe nails, permanent removal of plantar warts and excision of soft tissue lesions, are other services he offers. He sees the importance of prophylactic diabetic foot surgery and will perform this in appropriate patients. His research on surgical treatment of painful hallux rigidus was published in 2014, in the internationally recognised American Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr Damien Lafferty FACPS, MSc, Post Grad Dip (Adv Pod), MAPodA Podiatric Surgeon Foot and Ankle Surgeon

Dr. Lafferty is a Commonwealth accredited Podiatric Surgeon, a specialist foot and ankle surgeon. 

Dr. Lafferty graduated from Curtin University, Western Australia in 1988 with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He followed this with a Post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Podiatry in 1992 and a Masters of Science that was completed in 1997 all from Curtin University. He commenced his surgical training with the Australian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS) and attained his fellowship in 1997. Damien Lafferty is also an International Affiliate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).

With over twenty years experience, initially in Perth and a further nine years in London, England, he has been in Sydney since 2006. During his time in England, he worked both privately and publicly, consulting at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital in London. 

Dr. Lafferty’s aim is to utilise the most up to date research driven procedures that typically involve lesser invasive procedures, much quicker recuperation times and a marked reduction in post-operative pain.

All aspects of foot pathology are covered including bunions (hallux valgus), hallux rigidus, various foot arthritis, including fore foot and rear foot, Morton’s neuroma, flat foot reconstruction, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis (heel spurs) ingrown toenails and verrucae removal.

In line with his belief that quality continuous education is essential, Dr Lafferty is a lecturer and clinical supervisor at Newcastle University. Lecturing in podiatric surgery and clinical supervision of surgical consultations.

Dr. Porter is an orthopaedic surgeon, who sub-specializes solely in the area of sports orthopaedic surgery. Dr Tonks undertook his medical school training at Otago University in New Zealand and completed his Plastic Surgery training in New Zealand and Sydney.

Dr Sim Hom Tam is a Specialist Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility management / IVF specialist . He was born in Baucau, East Timor and migrated to Australian as a teenager. He graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed his specialist training in Sydney and London. He moved and set up his practice in Canberra in 2005.
